CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A local business owner shows how his property was heavily damaged after someone smashed into his front gate.

Joe Dees says something needs to be done with the road conditions before someone gets seriously injured.

Right across the corner of Old Brownsville Road and Westpoint sits Pro Tow Wrecker Service.

The owner of the towing company Joe Dees says that area is a danger zone.

“In the meantime, my place is wide open, and I just don't like that feeling I like being secure,” says Dees.

Recently, a car took out his front gate, causing damage to his wife's van and damaged his work truck.

Dees has been in this location for the last six years and says this is the fourth time something like this has happened there.

Dees says drivers speed in that area and at night, since there's no lighting in the area cars get confused about where to turn.

“We've had besides people hitting this property, I have had 4 or 5-6 major accidents at this intersection just because the design of this intersection,” says Dees.

Dees says upgrades are needed.

He continues to wait for answers from the city before someone gets hurt.

“So we begged the city I've personally called the city several times in the last five years trying to get someone to come out here and just talk to me and look at this intersection in seeing if we can make a difference,” says Dees.
