CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Court was in session, however it was moved somewhere a little different, and it was all for educational purposes.

King HIgh School students got a firsthand look at what takes place in an actual courtroom.

The King gym was filled with court reporters, Nueces Co. probation staff, the Nueces Co. sheriff and, of course, county judges.

“We had the individuals who were sentenced to different things today be able to reach out and speak to the children and convince them, or show them, that the ways that they have done are not the ways that should be done,” said Nueces Co. Judge Missy Medary.

There were six different cases tried, in which students learned about sentencing, motions to revoke and more.

Medary said the most touching part was when inmates were able to share their stories and left an impact on the students.
