If you live in Jim Hogg County, there’s a serious warning in place for you.
The Jim Hogg School District says a scam has been going around targeting the elderly in its area.
The alleged scammers are using a phone number from the school district and asking people for their social security number.
The district says it will never ask people for this type of information.
Its technology department is investigating the incident.
