PORT ARANSAS, Texas — Officials are investigating a fire that broke out in Port Aransas early Sunday morning. The lead official said the cause is “undetermined,” but no foul play is suspected.

The Port Aransas Volunteer Fire Department received a call for smoke in the attic of a home around 4:30 in the morning Sunday. It took crews from seven different departments around six hours to battle the blaze, with flames extinguished between ten and 11 Sunday morning.

Crews from Nueces County ESD #1 and ESD #2, Corpus Christi Fire Department, Aransas Pass Fire Department, Ingleside Volunteer Fire Department, Rockport-Fulton Volunteer Fire Department, and Portland Fire Department all assisted.

There were people home at the time the fire broke out, but no one was injured.
