The Beeville County Jail inmate who was accidently released from last week has been captured.
29-YEAR-OLD Ernest Ramirez was apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol near the checkpoint at Falfurrias on Tuesday night.
Ramires was originally booked in the Bee County Jail for a misdemeanor. He served his time for that offense and was released on September 25.
Once he was released, jailers realized he had a separate outstanding federal detainer for a non-violent drug charge and should not have been released.
Initially, the jail released an escape notice and said Ramirez should be considered armed and dangerous. That was later changed when the mistake was discovered.
This week, Crime Stoppers began offering a $1,000 reward.
