Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of a house fire that destroyed a Kingsville home last night, with officials now bringing in the state fire marshal to assist with the investigation.

The blaze completely destroyed the wooden portion of the mixed wood-and-brick structure, leaving only the brick section standing. Fire investigators were on scene today interviewing neighbors who live behind the damaged property.

A fire investigator at the scene declined to provide details on camera but confirmed to KRIS 6 that the state fire marshal has been called in to help with the investigation.

The identity of the homeowners has not yet been released.
