CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Every year for the holiday's, staff with the Coastal Bend Food Bank say they do their best to feed as many families that are in need as much as they can.
To help make this possible the community was encouraged to bring non-perishable items at the 6th annual Halloween with the Hooks event.
“It is very important, that the community help us because they really clean us up it's a very important time of the year for people that are having a hard time we not only give them food but what we're doing is giving them hope,” says Director of the Coastal Bend Food Bank Bea Hanson
Staff with the Corpus Christi Hooks say they are happy to team up with the food bank.
“The Coastal Bend Food Bank, they do great work year-round so we don't want to forget about them any time of the year, we know this is their busy season we know that they are about to start really, really stocking their shelf and they need that help,” says Corpus Christi Hooks Marketing Director JD Davis.
“It's important because not everybody is as blessed as we are here today and a lot of people are in need of help so it's important to help out the community,” says Celena Cardoza who donated.
