CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — If you plan on drinking New Year's eve, plan a way to get home safely. Texas DPS troopers will be out in full force protecting the highways. The Nueces County District Attorney says they've enlisted a phlebotomist to aid in the "No Refusal" initiative. Anyone who is suspected of drinking and driving and refuses to give a breath specimen will go before a judge for a warrant for blood withdrawal.

All law enforcement agencies say planning ahead is key to enjoying the celebrations while staying safe. Here's a few options should you find you've had too many drinks to drive home safely:

You do not have to be a AAA member to use the Tipsy Tow service however it is only for a one-way, one-time ride for a driver and tow for that driver’s vehicle.
