Who says you can’t have a spooktacular Halloween with a touch of science?

The concept might sound a little different, but this is what you can find at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History this Halloween.

Education manager with the Science and History museum Jonathan Garza says the goal of the upcoming Halloween at the BOOseum is to spark the youthful minds into getting excited about science despite the pandemic.

“We still need to have some sense of normalcy even as things seem to freeze around us," Garza said. "Time still goes, we still age, we still grow, and so we need to find a way to safely continue to introduce these properties these principles and educate our young minds."

Staff at the museum say Halloween at the BOOseum will be filled with a variety of events ranging for scientific demonstrations to concessions. And they're doing their best to stick with most children’s favorite Halloween tradition by offering contactless trick or treating.

“We wanted to do something special for the community given the fact that these times are hard for everybody and a lot of children this year are not going to have a chance to do normal trick or treating," said Susannah Urban, the assistant manager for public relations for the museum. "So this is a great option for that.”

Educators with the museum say social distancing regulations will still be required along with wearing a protective mask before entering the museum.

“We look forward to just providing that safe environment to facilitate the learning," Garza said. "And of course, having our guests experience an event here that will just make their Halloween worth it."
