CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi Police Department says a video depicting a toddler being assaulted by a woman was more than likely made in Mexico.

The police department says they received the video of the incident from several different sources on November 7 after it was posted on a local Facebook group site. The department issued a notice for the public's help in identifying the woman and 2 or 3-year old little girl in the video. Police blurred the child's name to protect her identity. In it, a woman is straddling the toddler on a bed and bouncing on top of her. The woman then lifts her and wraps the child with her legs and arms placing the little girl in a contorted position all while the child is crying and screaming. Officers also pointed out a tattoo on the woman's leg in hopes of helping to identify the woman. CCPD also noted that they weren't sure where the video was made and asked for help in determining if it was made locally or not.

Today, the department released information that the incident more than likely happened in Nuevo Leon, Mexico possibly over a year ago. Detectives are still trying to determine the specific location of where the alleged assault happened so that the Child Protective Services equivalent in Mexico can be notified.
