Corpus Christi police department says they more than double the number of citations they handed out for people setting off fireworks on the Fourth of July holiday.
Lieutenant Michael Pena states officers issued 28 citations for people setting off fireworks inside the city limits. Lt. Pena also added that one person was arrested.
Last year, CCPD issued out 13 citations for fireworks violations.
The citations have a fine of up to $2,000 for each opened fireworks package in their possession.
