CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man convicted of murder in a crime in Corpus Christi is scheduled to be executed today at the Federal Correction Complex in Terre Haute, Ind.

Alfred Bourgeois, 56, was convicted in 2004 for the torture and beating death of his 2-year old daughter two years earlier.

It became a federal case because it happened on the Corpus Christi Naval Base.

Attorneys for Bourgeios are seeking a stay because they claim he is intellectually disabled.

His execution is one of two that has been scheduled at the facility this week.
