Border Patrol agents discovered two bodies at the border over the last two days.
On Sunday, Rio Grande City Agents assigned to the riverine unit discovered the body of a dead person in Rio Grande. Mexican authorities recovered and took custody of the body.
On Monday, McAllen Agents discovered skeletal remains in the brush near Sullivan City, Texas. A local Justice of the Peace pronounced the subject deceased and ordered the body to be transferred to the Hidalgo County Morgue pending an autopsy.
According to a press release, the Rio Grande Valley Sector currently has multiple campaigns focused on rescues and danger awareness, such as “Operation Big Rig” and “No Se Arriesgue” to combat smuggling and ultimately save lives.
