INGLESIDE, Texas — An armed burglary suspect was shot by law enforcment early Wednesday morning.
The San Patricio County Sheriff's Office and the Ingleside Police Department first responded to a convenience store at the intersection of Inglewood Dr. and Parkview Place at 12:45 AM for a burglary call.
Officials say when they arrived, it appeared that several vehicles had been broken into.
Shortly after, they received a second call about someone trying to enter the back door of a nearby home.
Officers confronted a man in an alley behind the neighborhood, and say the suspect was holding a gun.
Officials say the man was repeatedly told to get on the ground, but would not do so.
The suspect was then shot by law enforcement, at least once.
He was treated on the scene and taken to a nearby hospital.
At this point, it is still unclear which agency shot at the man.
The Texas Rangers are currently leading the investigation.
Both officers involved in the shooting were not injured.
The identity of the suspect has not yet been released, and his current condition is unknown.
