Several students at Adkins Middle School are recovering after coming in contact with pepper spray.
According to Corpus Christi Independent School District Police Chief Kirby Warnke, a student sprayed pepper spray on the cafeteria's floor.
The spray quickly went airborne affecting several students. Many are complaining of eye irritation and respiratory issues.
"We are actively investigating and will take appropriate action," Warnke said, "If it's determined he committed a crime, he will detained."
