According to the Texas Lottery Commission, it's the largest prize ever paid out to a single Texas Lottery player. The winner has not claimed the prize yet. He or she has 180 days to do so.
According to the Texas Lottery Commission, the winning ticket was a Quick Pick sold at Lakeline Express Mart in Cedar Park. The store is eligible to receive a $1 million retailer bonus for selling this jackpot-winning ticket.
The jackpot reached $227 million on Tuesday night. The winning Mega Millions jackpot started as a $40 million prize on July 26 and rolled 17 times before being hit. The jackpot for the next Mega Millions drawing on Friday, Sept. 27 will reset to $40 million.
