As part of ongoing efforts to increase safety for drivers within the construction zone of the Rodd Field Road Improvement Project, several measures are being incorporated to further improve corridor safety.
On Tuesday, April 23, 2019, Contractors will be installing “NEW” STOP Signs and rumble strips on Rodd Field at the intersection of the Airline Road Extension. This intersection will now operate as an “ALL-WAY” STOP intersection during construction.
Additionally, police officers will be present at the intersections of Slough Road and the Airline Road Extension to assist motorists and traffic flow. Officers will be present, Monday through Friday between the hours of 6 AM – 9 AM and 4 PM – 7 PM.
Yorktown Boulevard remains closed to through traffic between Geiger Drive and Bay Drive.
During peak travel times expect delays at the intersection of Airline Road & Rodd Field Road and the intersection of Airline Road / Slough Road and Rodd Field Road.
For traffic to travel safely officers will be manning the intersections during the peak hours.
