Name of man found dead in his car released, CCPD open homicide investigation

Investigators with the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office have released the identity of a man who was found dead with a gunshot wound.

Tyson Franklin’s body was discovered in a truck in an assisted living resident home parking lot.

42-year-old Tyson Franklin’s body was found inside a blue Dodge truck Sunday morning.

Police officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Robby Street in reference to an unconscious man in a vehicle.

An employee near the location said he was taking out the garbage and noticed a truck with blood coming from the vehicle. The caller stated that is when he called the police.

As officers arrived,  they determined the man inside a blue Dodge pickup truck was deceased.

Officers noticed blood on the ground outside the pickup.

Medics arrived and determined that the 42-year-old male was deceased possibly from a gunshot.
