The new Harbor Bridge won’t be finished on time. The company heading up construction on the $800 million Harbor Bridge Project says they are behind schedule.
Speaking to the Nueces County Commissioners Court today, Project Manager John Palmer with Flatiron/Dragados said that permitting issues and bad weather will keep the company from meeting a previously projected completion date of April 2020. A press release from Flatiron/Dragados stated demolition of the current Harbor Bridge was expected to be completed by the fall of 2021.
Palmer says Flatiron/Dragados is working with the Texas Department of Transportation to determine a new completion date, but the project is now expected to continue through 2020.
