Law enforcement officials are searching for a man who punched his girlfriend several times in the face and beat her son with a bat, according to Corpus Christi police.

The assault happened on the 1700 block of Timrod St. just after 6 a.m.

The woman told police she got into an argument with her boyfriend. She said she was standing on the porch holding a laundry basket when the man pushed her off the porch, jumped down and began punching her in the face several times.

“While she was on the ground, she was trying to cover herself up, her 17-year-old son came outside with a bat,” a patrolman on scene said. “The boyfriend took the bat away from the son and struck the son several times in the back with the bat.”

The woman suffered two black eyes and swelling to the face. The son was treated on scene and neither had any major injuries, according to police.

The boyfriend is described as a Hispanic male around five feet six, wearing a grey shirt and blue jeans.

A car was also damaged during the assault.

“Before he left he took the baseball bat and ended up breaking all the windows.”

The incident is still under investigation.
