Former Corpus Christi City Council district 3 representative Lucy Rubio is now Judge Lucy Rubio.
Rubio was sworn in as Justice of the Peace for Precinct 1, Place 3, during a ceremony at today’s Nueces County Commissioners meeting.
In March, Rubio was elected to the seat after running unopposed. She resigned from her city council position in October.
Following the ceremony, Judge Loy Neal called a brief recess to allow those in attendance to enjoy a welcome aboard cake with the newly sworn in Judge Rubio.
