An organization helps military during holiday season

Operation Homefront is giving away free holiday turkeys to Veterans, Active duty, National Guard, Reservists and their families. Volunteers are asking for them to sign up online to receive a free turkey.

In order to sign up, you must visit their website at Once an account has been created, you can pick up your turkey at the National Guard Armory on 1430 Horne Rd.

“We want to make sure we recognize our veterans for everything they have done. This is just another way to give back and we are so proud to be a little entity and providing this service to them.” said Brenda Crawley, operation Homefront volunteer.
