Alma Garcia has lived in this house for 25 years and a week from Saturday she Is going to get a brand new paint job for free how does that make her feel?
“I’m glad. thank you, Jesus,” said Garcia.
Garcia’s house was damaged by Hurricane Harvey.
“The roof caved in and got all wet inside,” said Garcia.
For the last year, she and her brother-in-law have been fixing it up.
The inside is almost done, and thanks to a nationwide program called ‘Paint It Forward’, the local sponsor of the program is ABC Painting and Drywall.
“We have needy individuals that could benefit from an exterior paint job, so 3 years ago we did our first paint it forward,” said Debbie Hoffmann Solis from ABC Painting & Drywall.
Garcia’s house was selected when a friend nominated her by writing an essay. Claiming Garcia is a deserving homeowner.
“The story was great. We have judges she was selected and we are ready to paint her house,” said Solis.
“I’m excited yes,” said Garcia.
