Free car seat inspections will be offered tomorrow at the Texas Department of Transportation office on South Padre Island Drive tomorrow.
Driscoll Children’s Hospital, in coordination with TxDOT and the Corpus Christi Police Officer Association, will hold the event Oct. 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 1701 SPID in Corpus Christi.
Parents are invited to bring their car seats and receive instruction on proper use and safety.
The hospital says parents and caregivers will receive hands-on instruction from a certified child passenger safety technician, who will examine each car seat for correct use, installation and recalls.
Texas law on child safety seats requires all kids younger than 8 years old, unless they are taller than 4 feet 9 inches, to be properly restrained in a child safety seat.
