Two young girls one 11 and one 12 in Bartow, Florida were arrested and charged today with conspiracy to commit murder and several other charges after authorities say their plan to attack students with knives at a middle school was thwarted.

Officials say the two young girls were planning to attack students at Bartow Middle School with knives yesterday during school.

Police say the two juveniles were caught by a staff member hiding in the bathroom during regular class time.

Bartow Police Chief Joe Hall said investigators searched the girls and found several knives including a butcher knife.

The girls were arrested and removed from the school’s campus.

Detectives said the young girls told them they were practicing Satanists and they had been planning an attack on other students for the past couple of days.

The girls also said they wanted to kill at least 15 people and were waiting in the bathroom for the opportunity to find smaller kids so they could overpower their victims.

Detectives say both girls posted the attack on social media and they say they found messages on the girls’ cell phones saying they will leave body parts at the entrance and then kill themselves.

Bartow School Superintendent Jackie Byrd thanked the teachers and administrators for saying something when they heard about the threat. Byrd also reassured parents that everyone on campus is safe.

Police officials say the two young girls are charged with conspiracy to commit murder, possession of a weapon on school property, carrying a concealed weapon and disruption of a school function.
