A ribbon cutting took place today, as well as a blessing of the new home of Nancy and Benny Arisbe. Their home was one of the many that were damaged by Hurricane Harvey, and was beyond repair.

The Arisbe’s own Captain Benny’s Seafood restaurant, in Fulton. They built their restaurant from the ground up and chose to live right above it. However, on August 25, the night Harvey made landfall, their restaurant and home were destroyed.

The couple applied for assistance through several agencies but were denied. When the family received a call from the Coastal Bend Recovery Group, things changed for the best.

The Arisbe’s were told they qualified for a brand new home.

Today, the eve of their 54th wedding anniversary, they were given the keys to their brand new home.

Mrs. Arisbe says now that she’ll be living home in Fulton again, she wants to help others who are still recovering from Harvey by volunteering and recommends people from around the community to volunteer as well.

The Arisbe’s are also planning on renovating their restaurant, and feel blessed to have a brand new home.
