The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department is investigating several fish kills in the Coastal Bend.
Hundreds of dead fish began washing up on area beaches this morning, causing TPWD officials to have the fish tested to determine if red tide caused the kill.
TPWD says other factors, such as low oxygen levels in the water caused by runoff from recent rains could have led to the fish kill.
