The city of Corpus Christi is expanding its free, sandbag filling service this week.
According to the city, the self-served sandbag distribution system will be available at the J.C. Elliott Collection Center on September 12 through 14 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The city says residents will be allowed to fill six, 40 pound sandbags per vehicle.
The sandbag Saturday event scheduled for September 15 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. will go as planned. Ay changes to the schedule will be posted at www.cctexas.com/sandbagsaturdays .
The city recommends residents bring gloves and someone to help load the bags.
