CCISD students head back to class on Monday. This year Haas Middle School is taking kids from Cullen Middle School.
Haas added 17 new classrooms, new bathrooms and a band hall to acommodate the Cullen students.
The expansion also comes with new security measures.
The improvements were paid for with a bond project approved by voters in 2016.
“I think there’s pros and cons I’m a little nervous to see how they going to do it all but I think in the end it will be a good experience for both of them,” said parent Monica Elizondo.
Meanwhile, the district plans to tear down the old Cullen Middle School.
No word yet on what they plan to do with that property.
