While the number of COVID-19 cases continues to climb in Nueces County, there have been some restrictions placed on beach and pool visits.

A curfew was enacted Wednesday, and runs through July 11. The beach will close to vehicular traffic at all times, and to people on foot every day from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Peter Zanoni, the Corpus Christi City manager, said while the curfew is in place, picnic and camping on the beach will be prohibited. Tents, umbrellas, and sedentary activity will also not be allowed.

Four Corpus Christi swimming pools will remain open for the holiday weekend including Collier Pool, the Natatorium, Greenwood and the H-E-B pool. Everyone will be screened and their temperature checked before entering the facility.
