Two Corpus Christi Firefighter Paramedics were put in isolation after possibly being exposed to COVID-19 while responding to an EMS call last night.
Those first responders will return to work after the patient in question tested negative for the virus.
The patient was transported to a local hospital after evaluation by medical staff and tested the same night.
"It was determined the patient fit criteria for COVID-19 and will be tested," says the city of Corpus Christi's press release. "Until test results are received, the first responders will remain quarantined and actively monitored in an abundance of caution."
The City of Corpus Christi has implemented measures to protect the safety of first responders and they say will take necessary action to protect the personnel, their families, and the community.
