A Corpus Christi Police Department employee has tested positive for COVID-19.

Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District Health Director Annette Rodriguez confirmed the news to KRIS 6 News, saying that the CCPD employee works in the Central Records Department, and may have traveled to New Orleans recently.

Rodriguez also said the woman also came in contact with someone at a family reunion who has also tested positive for the COVID-19.

Rodriguez said the health department was notified of this case Tuesday night and it is investigating.

Meanwhile, other CCPD employees who have had direct contact with her will be quarantined.
