Every day, health care professionals are putting their best foot forward in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, and their efforts to help the community aren't going unnoticed.
In fact, a demonstration of that appreciation was on display atop the CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Shoreline parking garage on Thursday.
At the corner of Santa Fe and Ayers streets, curious eyes locked onto signs that said variations of the same message: thank you.
“We want the doctors the nurses, the CNAs the health care, home health -- all providers -- to know that we’re in this together and we’re going to win,” said paramedic Ramona Seeber.
The purpose was to show support for all healthcare workers and the impact their dedication is having on the community.
“I feel the impact of this; I feel the stress, I feel the strain, I feel what it's doing to the community and I think we need to do more things like this and come together,” said event organizer Donna Richmond.
The group on top of the parking garage consisted of paramedics, doctors, and more -- all in support of each other.
The support group stood "shoulder to shoulder," but still 6 feet apart, in solidarity, with a mindset of faith, not fear.
