FREER, Texas — The recent spike in COVID-19 cases is causing multiple local school districts to delay their return from the Christmas holidays.

Freer ISD has announced it will be closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

It comes after the school district reported a recent surge of COVID-19 cases, including 10 students and nine staff members with several others showing symptoms.

The earliest that Freer’s students and staff will return to class is on Thursday.
