Health officials confirmed to Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid and the City of Kingsville have a confirmed case of COVID-19 in that community.
An announcement was posted on a Facebook account managed by Kingsville city employees.
City officials said they will host a press conference around noon via Facebook live
On Thursday, Judge Rudy Madrid issued a Stay-At-Home order. Kingsville officials stated, "Please continue to take all precautions recommended by the CDC and Texas DSHS."
The order allows essential businesses, like health care facilities, grocery stores, gas stations, as well as drive-thru and take-out restaurants, to remain open and accessible to community.
Officials also asked the public and employees of essential businesses to maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet between other individuals.
The Shelter-At-Home order will go into effect at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 27, and continue until Wednesday, April 8.
