According to the district's Athletic Director, Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco Independent School District has canceled all of it's fall sports seasons.

Last week, the district announced that it would suspend those activities through October. Now they have been shut down.

Gary Cunningham, the district's athletic director, confirmed the cancellation Monday, saying that a November start for football and volleyball seasons for the district in Jim Wells County wasn't feasible.

Included in the shutdown will be the seasons for the Class 2A Ben Bolt-Palito Blanco Badgers High School teams.

"We already suspended our activities through October and with the first nine weeks of school being virtual, students would not return to campus until November 2," Cunningham said. "As much as it pains me for our seniors, I fully support our school board's decision."

Ben Bolt-Polito Blanco Independent School District is the first in Texas to cancel the fall sports season.
