CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man was taken into custody while in court today after his bond was revoked for a charge stemming from road rage.

According to the indictment, Fransisco Vargas Jr. allegedly shot a woman on June 15, 2019, causing bodily injury, and then threatened a man with a gun.

It's a second-degree felony with a sentence ranging from two to 20 years behind bars and up to a $10,000 fine.

Vargas' former attorney withdrew from the case, causing his bond to be surrendered.

That led to Vargas' arrest in court today, for failing to make bond on $70,000.

Judge Missy Medary of the 347th District Court presided over this case.

Vargas has been in trouble with the law before and has prior charges pending including robbery, deadly conduct and endangerment of a child.
