CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A new Goodwill Clearance Store is opening here in Corpus Christi. Instead of paying what's on the price tag, purchases will depend on an item's weight.
Whether you're shopping for a specific find, or shopping in hopes of finding something special, a new Goodwill location is opening in Corpus Christi where you can do all that thrifting, at a cheaper rate.
This will be the first ever goodwill clearance store in South Texas. Here shoppers will get to thrift by the pound.
“On average we've measured that you can get around 6 tops for $1.49 which is going to be a great deal for those who are thrift shoppers and bargain hunters,” said Marjorie Boudreaux, VP of marketing.
Items brought to the new Goodwill Clearance Store come from one of two places. They will either be items that didn't sell within a time frame at a regular good will store or they will be items donated that skipped the goodwill store altogether.
The clearance store has 76 bins full of clothing and household items, Boudreaux says their items will be restocked and rotated 4 times a day.
“Which means that if a shopper sees something that they want, they better get it because it’s probably not going to be there the next day,” said Boudreaux.
She says the new Goodwill Clearance Store is really a win-win experience. Shoppers get to snag heavily discounted deals, and Goodwill takes the profits and helps folks improve their lives.
“The revenue that we generate helps support our job training program which helps people with disabilities and those who have barriers to employment because at Goodwill we believe in the power of work,” said Boudreaux.
The store will be open from 8 AM to 9 PM seven days a week, and the grand opening is Tuesday December 17th.
The Goodwill Clearance Store will be located at 4135 Ayers St.
