CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A disturbing image is causing a storm on social media.

It's a picture of a dog inside a restaurant sitting next to a doggie training pad covered in urine.

This took place at the Thai Siam restaurant located at the Padre Island.

One man on social media claims he went there for a visit, smelled urine, took a picture and walked right out the door.

Our Action 10 news team did some digging and found out that this was not the first time the restaurant violated having a dog in the eating area.

All information was noted in their latest health inspection.

Our cameras stopped by the restaurant and right away Action News cameras spotted a mobile doggie crate on the floor.

Immediately the store owner knew what we wanted to talk about and she claims that the dog is a certified service animal.

We spoke to the health department and they say the dog does not follow city ordinance.

The city says this violates the pet variance, meaning the dog would need to be placed on a patio and not in and out of the restaurant.

Frustrated, the store owner tells us that she is going to close her doors.

She also says the customer who took that picture did so before store hours.

Now we did find out the dog is registered as a service animal.

However, it's through the state of California.

Health inspectors say that violates the city ordnance too.

The dog needs to be certified in the State of Texas and that will also provide a seal of approval.
