CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Parents can now apply for Pandemic food benefits.
The Corpus Christi Independent School District recently sent out an email with information about the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer application.
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak the U.S. Department of Agriculture is providing more than $1 billion dollars in food benefits to families with children ages 5- 18.
Each eligible child can receive up to $285.
This is a one time payment to help families.
There are three ways to qualify for the benefits.
*Children who received SNAP food benefits for March 2020
*Children who are certified for free or reduced-price school meals during the 2019-2020 Texas school year
*Children who attend a school that offers free meals to all students (Community Eligibility Provision or Provision 2)
The Deadline to apply for the benefits is June 30, 2020.
