That means if you get in a car and don’t buckle up, you’ll get a ticket.
May is Seat Belt Safety Awareness Month.
Officers are ramping up their efforts to ticket anyone not wearing a seatbelt, both drivers and passengers.
Enforcement will increase at night when TX-DOT says people avoid wearing seatbelts because they think they can’t be seen and more accidents occur.
The campaign runs until June 2.
