A 28-year-old Aransas Pass man was arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor.
Ross Longoria Jr. was arrested and charged with online solicitation of a minor on Wednesday. Detectives then searched his home and seized more digital evidence. The case continues and Aransas Pass detectives anticipate additional charges may be filed in the future.
Longoria, who police say is a registered sex offender, was reported last June through Tri-County Crimestoppers for having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old-girl. Police said detectives immediately began investigating the case, but the evidence was scarce due to poor cooperation from involved individuals.
According to police, Longoria has targeted underage girls before. They say he currently registers for sexual offense he previously committed against girls, aged 14, 14 and 16.
Police said Longoria uses social media to communicate and groom his victims, as he did in the current case.
