With the kids in school, the demand for food goes down. so the food bank may not be as busy giving out food, but they do have to replentish their shelves. You can help. If you are going to the high school football games at Buc Stadium or Cabaniss Field tonight, bring a can of food with you. Drop it in one of the drums and you will help the food bank get the food it needs as they gear up for the holidays

Bea Hanson, the Director of the Food Bank of the Coastal Bend said, “during the summer months children have been out of school. Parents have to fed them 3 meals a day. There a lot of the children depend on breakfast and lunch at school and so the demand goes up during the summer. As soon as school starts, we look at our shelves and were empty. So this is a good time for us to get the help from the community.”
