FLOUR BLUFF – A couple of new backpack policies will be enforced at Flour Bluff Junior High this school year. New principal, Brodie Wallace, emailed parents that students will have to use clear or mesh backpacks and will be issued lockers therefore students will not be permitted to carry large backpacks into classrooms. In his email, Wallace stated that the new policies are to ensure the safety and security of all students.
However, last week, parents went on social media to share their outrage over the policy. School officials at that time said the policy was not decided yet. They said the former principal proposed the policy changes but he was no longer with the school district.
Wallace says staff will be lenient through the first couple of weeks of school to allow the students time to get new backpacks and adjust to the changes.
