Parents take issue with new backpack policies at Flour Bluff schools

Posted

Parents aren’t happy with a new policy at Flour Bluff Junior High School.  A social media post showed what appeared to be the school’s student handbook for the coming year.  The handbook stated students would be required to carry clear or mesh backpacks.

However, a spokesperson for Flour Bluff Independent School District says that the policy is not official yet.  It was proposed by the school’s previous principal who is no longer with the district.  District officials say they are finalizing this year’s handbooks and will update parents next week.
