Michael Cloud is the apparent winner of District 27’s emergency special election to fill the seat left vacant by former congressman Blake Farenthold.
Cloud, a Republican, took 19,856 votes, beating out Democrat Eric Holguin with 11,594 and their other opponents.For a full list of results, click here.
Now, Cloud will assume Farenthold’s former seat for what would have been the rest of his term.
No runoff election will be needed, but voters will still decide who takes the seat for the next full term in November.
