Eunice Gayson, first Bond girl, passes away

Eunice Gayson, the actress who played the very first ‘Bond Girl’, has died at the age of 90, according to a post on the official James Bond Twitter account.

She played Sylvia Trench in 007’s 1962 debut "Dr. No".

The post on the account is attributed to Bond producers Michael G Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, and reads "We are so sad to learn that Eunice Gayson, our very first ‘Bond girl’ who played Sylvia Trench in DR. NO and FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE has passed away. Our sincere thoughts are with her family."

A post on Trench’s official Twitter feed read: "She will be very much missed.
