Keller Williams Realtor Kim Erwin says now is the time to sell your house, because you are going to get top dollar.
That’s right and home prices are up almost 10% from last year at this time… But why?
"Inventory is very low. Houses are bringing a premium and buyers are wanting to buy with the lower interest rate," said Erwin.
According to the Coastal Bend Economic Briefing newsletter, the total active listings from a year ago are down 21 percent.
So, should you decide to sell your house, how do you get top dollar?
"To me just de-cluttering is the quickest way to go. Curb appeal, pull your weeds. Send 20 dollars and plant some pretty flowers. I know 20 doesn’t sound like a lot, but there are things you can do very reasonably," said Erwin.
Erwin also says the color of the walls is also a big deal. Some buyers may not like wild colors.
Nice flooring or carpet helps and Erwin says if you cannot afford to upgrade you flooring, don’t worry. "if you cant afford the carpet, get the allowance and build it in you can put it in the contract. You can negotiate these repairs in order to get a higher price,"
