The Aransas Pass Shrimporee Festival has found another band to perform on Saturday night.
According to Rosemary Vega with the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce, Los Palominos will fill in the showtime previously assigned to Grupo Mazz at this weekend’s Shrimporee Festival.
With the passing of Mazz’s lead singer Jimmy Gonzalez on Wednesday, the popular Tejano band could not perform Saturday night as scheduled.

Organizers for the Aransas Pass Shrimporee quickly worked to find a replacement band. Los Palominos agreed.
The Grammy Award winning Palominos are from Uvalde, Texas and are contracted under Freddie Records, as was Grupo Mazz.
