CORPUS CHRISTI – The Padre Island National Seashore is one of the area’s most popular tourist attractions but it’s going to cost you more to visit.

That’s because new fees go into effect tomorrow.  The current fee for one vehicle to enter the park is $10 for a seven day pass.

That price will double to $20 for a seven day pass or $10 for one day at the National Seashore.

The camping fee for Malaquite Beach is going up from $8 a night to $14 a night.  And expect to pay more for using the boat ramp, as well.

The money will be used to improve the seashore and other national parks.
